I would just like to say goodbye to everyone I had class with. And to my teacher my part C for my final project is one of my comments on my blog. I really enjoyed this class even thought I really, really dislike writing papers. I still plan on checking out my blog throughout the summer. Who knows maybe I will get good at blogging. Recently there has been an oil spill of the shore of Louisiana in the Gulf of Mexico. The oil has now reached the shore of Louisiana. This disaster occurred on April 20th. Obama has been informed and spoke about it Friday following the accident. Authorities still are unsure of what caused the explosion on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig. When Obama spoke of the incident he is having someone look into why this spill happened and solutions to prevent it from happening in the future. Obama supports drilling but he wants the people to go a about drilling of oil and natural gas in a safe way. This way no one will get hurt, people or the environment. One of Obama’s advisers, David Axelrod, compared the response of this accident in the Gulf to the tragic disaster of Hurricane Katrina. He said the government responded much more quickly compared to the slow reaction after Hurricane Katrina. Obama has also made it possible for off shore drilling to continue, but for the time being with this accident occurring no one has been a loud or authorized to start drilling. No one will be able to drill off shore until this accident has been figured out and why it was caused. The government has been working with the Coast Guard to clean this mess up as quickly as possible, but they are unable to skim the oil off the top of the water and burn it because the weather hasn’t been decent enough. BP, the oil company that this accident occurred to, plans to compensate the people that the spill will affect. This is what the CEO, Tony Hayward, told Reuters “We are taking full responsibility for the spill and we will clean it up and where people can present legitimate claims for damages we will honor them. We are going to be very, very aggressive in all of that.” This accident has a possibility to cause so much damage not only to itself but to the fishing industry in Louisiana and also the tourist industry in Florida. For the fishing industry it could cost $2.5 billion dollars and in Florida it could be as much as $3 billion dollars. Not only does this accident cost so much money but there are many people that are losing jobs. The fishing industry is taking a horrible hit because of this oil spill. There are fishermen out trying to get everything they can, from oysters to shrimp, out of the water before it is ruined by the oil. This oil spill has also cause distrust with the people in the fishing industry. They no longer feel that they can believe what BP has to say. They feel as though they have been betrayed.
I think it is great that the government has taken action to fix what has happened. It is also good that they are taking precautions to prevent it in the future, but what I would like to know it what are they going to do about the damage that is done now. Yes, I understand that Obama has someone looking into what has happened and how to prevent it. The thing is though how many people are working on this project? Is he just going to forget about it? I would like to know what the plan is for the fishing industry. What exactly is going to happen to help them out? It seems to me (from my point of view) the fishing industry has taken a very hard hit from this accident. It’s not even their fault it happened either. My opinion is that not only should the government figure out what to do about the oil and how to prevent it from happening in the future but to figure out how they are going to help the fishermen in the fishing industry.

So this is the last blog we officially have to have beside the one for our final. I’m not sure what to say. This year has been interesting and way different than high school. So I think that is a good thing. This summer is going to be interesting also because I will be staying in Marshall and not moving back to Iowa. This makes me a little sad, but it is something I’m going to have to deal with. It helps that my roommate are pretty cool. We have our house and we are really getting things moved in now so its not as empty. My room is huge and I have nothing really to put in it. I need a book shelf and a desk still…. Other than that everyone have a great summer.
Last night I slept in the house I will be living in for this summer and next school year. Well my other room mate that lives with me was still out at a party and so I was the first one home. I called so many people because I was scared. From my ex boyfriend to my sister. It was interesting. Then when I woke up in the middle of the night some lights that I turned on were off so I was like okay where is my room mate? He didn’t want to wake me up so he slept on the futon. I felt bad because I stole his room and his bed. I think I will get use to the house eventually but it may take me a little while. That is all for now :)

This is SO adorable and FUNNY! Now I want to get an ipad so my cats can play with it!
This week my future room mates and I looked at a house to move into. We were actually going to look at more than one place but the 1st on we looked at we took because we weren’t sure if we would find a place. The house we found is on W. Saratoga. Its nothing big. The house has 3 bedroom and one bathroom. So far only me and one of my other room mates will be living in the house over the summer. Oh! the rent for all of us put together is $575. When we were first looking at it it was about $650. We were all happy when the guy said it was cheaper. My room mates and I are going to slowly move in during the month of April. In this time frame I’m going to ask my parents to bring some stuff up for me one the 9th like a bed and a desk and I don’t even know what else. I don’t know what else to say! I’m just so excited we found a house. It’s not the great house we could live in but it is our first house so we are all okay with that. We a fair amount of cleaning to do but other than that its not too bad. There is also some stuff left over in the garage from the people that were there before us. We even have a little patio type thing in the back yard. Honestly the back yard is no where near the size of yard I have at home, but I’m okay with that. Well that all for now I will put pictures up later :D
Ok. So my roomie sent me a facebook message asking me to do the dishes… the thing that gets me is most of the dishes are hers. Over spring break I dirty one fork and one spoon. Before she left for break she dirty 2 of HER bowls and HER plate and multiple utenils. She says her life at home is hectic and she has to do the dishes like 3 times a day. This is not my fault. I understand things get crazy. 95% of the time i dont eat in our room. I work 2 jobs, i’m taking 16 credits, plus i’m in track club. I also have a social life. She is taking 12 credits and one class she is choosing to fail because the teacher doesn’t teach the class well. She also only has class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Honestly I’m very upset she asked me to do the dishes when 90% of them are HERS! Really she isn’t that bad of a roommate, but this is really starting to bother me. She has left me post-its on my desk and other messages instead of saying something to my face. Really I think I might blow if I get another little stupid message asking me to do something when my life really isn’t any less stressful. But that is all for now. What do you think I should do about my roommate situation?
As of right now I am stuck with dial up connection. I have worked most of spring break at Dairy Queen. I’m getting my car fixed today. I’m also going to a tractor pull in Nebraska with my sister tomorrow. Nebraska is only 20 miles away so not really that far. I’m also going to change the oil in my car. Do some laundry and homework. Other than that I haven’t really done anything special for break. That all for now I’m late for gettting my car fix :S.
